Remi Afon is an AI/ML Security Architect and cybersecurity leader specialising in the
secure design, deployment and governance of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
systems. With more than two decades of technology experience, his work sits at the
intersection of AI architecture, cybersecurity, cloud security, risk management and
responsible AI, helping organisations adopt emerging AI technologies securely and at
enterprise scale.

His current focus is on developing secure-by-design architectures for Generative AI,
Large Language Models, AI assistants and agentic AI systems. He works across the AI
lifecycle to identify and mitigate risks relating to prompt injection, sensitive data exposure,
excessive permissions, insecure integrations, model and application supply chains, AI agents,
third-party models, APIs, identity, logging and monitoring.

Remi has provided security architecture and assurance for enterprise AI solutions involving
technologies such as Google Vertex AI, Gemini Enterprise, Claude Enterprise and
Microsoft Copilot Studio. His work includes AI threat modelling, security architecture
reviews, AI risk assessments, security control design, penetration-testing assurance, data
protection, identity and access management, AI gateway security, LLM security controls and
continuous monitoring.

Beyond individual solutions, Remi helps organisations establish the architecture,
governance and security foundations required to scale AI responsibly. His approach
combines technical security engineering with frameworks and regulatory requirements
including ISO/IEC 42001, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, GDPR and the EU
AI Act, translating governance requirements into practical architectural and engineering
controls.

His wider expertise spans Cloud Security, DevSecOps, MLSecOps, DevSecAI,
Application Security, Security Architecture and Secure Digital Transformation,
providing a strong cybersecurity foundation for addressing the new attack surfaces created by
AI-enabled systems.

Remi is the Founder and CEO of Lynsec Cybersecurity Limited (Nigeria) and CEO of
Penayde Limited (UK), through which he supports cybersecurity, AI security, professional
development and technology initiatives. He is also the Founder and Executive Director of
GoLegit Africa, an initiative focused on redirecting technology skills towards legitimate
digital careers and reducing cybercrime through education and rehabilitation. He previously
served as the pioneer President of the Cyber Security Experts Association of Nigeria
(CSEAN) and currently serves as Chairman of its Board of Trustees (BOT), continuing to
contribute to cybersecurity leadership, capacity development and industry thought leadership.

He holds a BSc in Computer Science and an MSc in Information Security from Royal
Holloway, University of London, alongside specialist training in Artificial Intelligence for
Cyber Security from the University of Oxford. His professional credentials include CISSP,
CISM, GCSA, CEH, Certified Artificial Intelligence Professional, ISO/IEC 42001 Lead
Implementer and ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor. He is also a PECB
Certified Trainer and EC-Council Certified Trainer.
